A tribe in the shadow of history: The Modanli
The Modanli are one of the communities that have established many villages in the Polatli and Haymana districts of Ankara today.
Although the majority of the people living in the region define themselves as Turkmen, some historical sources establish a connection with the Mutki reign in Kurdish history and reveal that the Modanli may be of Kurdish origin.
This brings with it the question of whether the Modanli may be a community of mixed origin.
