Harun was born in 1975 in the Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak. The music world first got to know him through Koma Rewşen, who is considered one of the pioneers of Kurdish rock music. The band, which was founded in Adana within the Mezopotamya Cultural Center, initially followed a traditional line, but with Harun’s participation, it changed its musical style and developed a sound blended with rock music.

Koma Rewşen and the birth of Kurdish Rock

Koma Rewşen attracted attention as one of the few bands producing rock music in Kurdish music. The band:

These albums were an important turning point in the rise of Kurdish rock music. The band gave many concerts not only in Turkey but also abroad, thus bringing Kurdish music together with a universal language.

Dissolution and silent period

With the dissolution of Koma Rewşen in 2011, the group’s lead singer Harun stepped away from the stage for a while and focused on producing “in the kitchen”. This period was effective in Harun’s musical maturation and paved the way for new projects.

Harun’s return: Rev album

Returning to music with a solo career in 2018, Harun released his album “Rev”. He then continued his production by sharing singles. This new period, which brought together traditional melodies and modern music, stood out as a more personal and experimental approach in Harun’s artistic line.

Returning to the stage in Diyarbakır

Harun started to take the stage again with a Diyarbakır concert after a long break. His repertoire includes both pieces from the Koma Rewşen period and new productions. His stage performance still draws attention with its strong, energetic and emotional narrative.
