The Fırat Neighborhood of the Şahinbey district of Antep is a settlement established by migration, like many other neighborhoods. Now, the demolition decision taken for a part of the neighborhood on the grounds of “social facilities” is forcing the citizens here to migrate again.

The expropriation fee is insufficient

Within the scope of the demolition decision, citizens who own houses in the neighborhood are offered an expropriation fee and asked to leave their homes. However, the residents of the neighborhood, who state that the fee given is definitely not enough to buy a new plot of land and build a house, say that this situation victimizes them.

The Aslan family is a family that migrated to Antep from the Birecik district of Urfa in 1972. The family, who first started living in the Beydilli Neighborhood, built their own house in the Fırat Neighborhood with great effort over the years. Today, they are asked to leave their two-story house.
